Are you a carer?
A carer is anyone, including children and adults who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support. The care they give is unpaid
Carers play a vital role in supporting people and giving a better quality of life to people who otherwise would really struggle. The work you do is invaluable. However, it is well recognised that carers are at an increased risk of developing their own problems, including physical, emotional / psychological, and financial.
At Hannage Brook we acknowledge the very important work carers do. We want to do what we can to help support you, while you are supporting the person who needs your care. Please let us know if you are a carer by telephoning and letting our reception team know or you can register online below:
Benefits
There are benefits available to support you in your role as a carer. These include carers allowance, attendance allowance and Personal Independence Payment.
