Care Quality Commission

CQC registration is the legal licence which allows all health and social care providers, including GP practices, to operate. Hannage Brook Medical Centre was granted its licence on 11 December 2012.

We had to confirm that we complied with 16 ‘Essential Outcomes’ covering:

  • Patient Involvement and Information
  • Personalised Care, Treatment and Support
  • Safeguarding and Safety
  • Suitability of Staffing
  • Quality and Management

The CQC Inspectors will ask us 5 Key Questions

  • Are we safe?
  • Are we effective?
  • Are we caring?
  • Are we responsive?
  • Are we well led?

From June 2013 all GP practices will be subject to a planned inspection every 2 years, but if major concerns about a practice are raised then CQC can make unnannounced visits.

Hannage Brook Medical Centre is currently rated as Outstanding in all 5 of these key areas. To view the report in more detail, please visit the CQC website.
