Music and Memory Matinees at Hannage Brook

What happens when a GP surgery, healthcare musicians and a simple conversation come together?

Something really special. Music and Memory Matinees.

This creative health programme is designed for people living with dementia and for the people who care for them. It began with a conversation right here at Hannage Brook Medical Centre, and it’s already becoming so much more than music.

Our Creative in Place (Wirksworth), Nick, has written a beautiful blog reflecting on the very first Music and Memory Matinees session. These sessions are creating space for connection, supporting carers, reducing barriers to accessing healthcare, and showing how creativity can play a powerful role in health and wellbeing.

The blog shares how one idea grew into a partnership that’s making a real difference for local people. Have a read here
