Our Clinical Pharmacy team is made up of Helen and Nhu (Clinical Pharmacists) and Jess (Pharmacy Technician). They are involved with all aspects of medication within the practice, providing advice to staff and patients and dealing with medication changes in hospital clinic and discharge letters.
Clinical pharmacists are highly qualified experts in medicines. Helen and Nhu work as part of the surgery multidisciplinary team to improve your outcomes from medicines. They consult with and treat you directly on behalf of your GP. This includes providing extra help to manage long-term conditions, advice if you’re taking multiple medicines and providing better access to a review of your medication.
Helen is qualified to prescribe medicines and Nhu is working toward the same qualification.
Jess supports the delivery of safe, effective and efficient systems to get the best from medicines. She helps people manage their blood pressure and cholesterol, reviews people who are taking certain medicines and takes responsibility to ensure that medicines are monitored correctly with timely blood testing. (Jess works under the supervision of a pharmacist and is a registered healthcare professional, responsible and accountable for her own accurate and safe practice.)
The Clinical Pharmacy team are available on the phone for urgent same day medication advice and telephone or face to face medication review appointments.
