Online Appointment System
If you are registered on SystmOnline you will be able to book or cancel your appointment by clicking here.
To register on SystmOnline please bring a form of photo ID to the surgery reception and we will issue your login and password details.
You can book appointments between 4 and 6 weeks ahead. This is the best way to ensure you see the doctor of your choice.
48 Hour Booking
We keep some appointments for those who need to see a doctor within 2 working days. You will always be offered an appointment, but it is often difficult to give you the doctor of your choice.
Emergencies - if you need an urgent appointment today...
If you ring the surgery needing an urgent appointment today your call will be ‘triaged’. This means that the receptionist will take your details, ask you for a little bit of information about the problem (but please don’t worry if you would prefer not to tell the receptionist) and ensure that a doctor calls you back.
When the doctor calls you back he/she will assess your problem and decide upon the best way for you to be treated. This may mean that the doctor will make an appointment for you to visit the surgery that day or it may be that the problem can be dealt with over the phone and you won’t need to come to the surgery.
All patients will be offered the earliest possible call-back time by the doctor and we guarantee that your call will be returned. Please be assured that all patients who need to be seen will be seen.
Hannage Brook Medical Centre is working with a group of local practices to provide a GP extended access service.
As a group of practices with Ashbourne Medical Centre, Brailsford & Hulland Medical Centre and The Surgery Clifton Road, we will be offering appointments at various locations from 6.30pm – 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am - 12pm Saturday and Sunday, to better support the needs of our patient population.
These extended access appointments are available for all patients registered at the above practices and are provided at the following locations:

Hannage Brook Medical Centre, Water Lane, Wirksworth, DE4 4JG
Brailsford & Hulland Medical Centre, The Green, Brailsford, DE6 3BX
The Surgery, Clifton Road, Ashbourne, DE6 1RR
St Oswalds Hospital, Clifton Road, Ashbourne, DE6 1DR
Extended access appointments MUST be pre-booked by contacting your registered practice. When you are booking this type of appointment the receptionist will ask the nature of the problem (to ensure that you are booked with the appropriate clinician), and will also request your consent to share your medical record with the clinician undertaking the appointment. Without both the nature of the problem and your consent to share your medical record we unfortunately will not be able to offer you an extended access appointment.
We are not able to see any walk-in patients during extended access sessions; only patients that are booked in by their registered practice will be seen.
We can arrange an interpreting/translation service if required for patients whose first language is not English. Please let us know if this is needed when you book your appointment.
Late arrivals make it impossible for the doctor to run to time, and so other patients are kept waiting. For this reason, if you are more than 10 minutes late you will be asked to re-book for another day, unless your need to see the doctor is urgent.
We make every effort to ensure that surgeries run on time. However, there will be occasions when an emergency arises, or patients need longer than the 10 minutes allotted to them, and this results in you having to wait beyond your appointment time. We ask for your patience and understanding when this happens.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
